Equitable Access

Unless your school is considered one-one, student use of technology can become difficult to implement. Students and teachers are encouraged to implement technology use with in the classroom as much as possible, but many schools have limited resources of technology that must be shared evenly. To make sure all students have the same opportunity to utilize the technology proper guidelines must be followed for each piece of technology

Computers:

  1. Time will be allotted by teachers during class time to visit the computer lab or if there is open computers a student may visit the lab accompanied by a teacher signed pass.

  2. If a student needs more time to work on a computer, the student must speak with the teacher and/or librarian to arrange a time before and/or after school.

  3. Time will be allowed during class, after all instructional time is completed, at the teacher’s discretion. The students will be given a computer schedule and will be expected to follow the schedule to ensure ample time is given to all students for computer access. All information needed for classwork will need to be saved to an external drive or Google Drive and deleted from the main computer. Any material not deleted will be deleted by the teacher at the end of each day in order to save space on the main computer.

  4. Students must sign in and out of the computer lab on the sheet posted next to the door.
